A new threat to the health of Hondurans has been detected. H3N2
Influenza A H3N2 is present in the country, after identifying the first cases in San Pedro Sula.
According to experts such as virulence virus is similar to influenza A H1N1.
Tito Alvarado, infectious diseases, explained that all influenza viruses produce the same symptoms.
"These viruses circulate in the environment and spread the same way, so that preventive measures should be maintained," said Alvarado.
Severe headache, high fever, intense muscle pain and cough are the main symptoms of influenza A H3N2, similar to those of influenza A H1N1.
In the case of influenza A H3N2, one of the greatest dangers is that if untreated can lead to pneumonia in minimum time in the patient.
Pneumonia is a disease that attacks the air sacs in the lungs, a situation that prevents the patient inhales the air that circulates normally, to the extent that can cause respiratory arrest.
Viruses
According to studies, influenza viruses are classified into types A, B and C. Influenza type A and B is responsible for generating global epidemics.
The influenza virus type C causes mild illness and may be asymptomatic, therefore, has no impact types A and B.
Each of the three types of influenza are subdivided into groups such as the influenza A H1N1 and H3N2.
