Three flu-related deaths in Alberta so far

Alberta Health Services says there have been three flu-related deaths so far this season.

In it?s first update of the season, AHS reports one of the victims was from the South zone, and the other two in Edmonton.

No other details about the victims have been made public.

In addition, AHS says 30 people have been hospitalized with the flu ? 3 in Calgary, 4 in the South and 17 in Edmonton...

As the number of confirmed flu cases across the province continues to rise, more than 580,000 Albertans have been vaccinated at public flu clinics, doctor?s offices and pharmacies.

Alberta Health Services released its weekly influenza report on Thursday. The data shows that as of Nov. 1, four Albertans with lab-confirmed cases of influenza have died.

The number of Albertans admitted to hospital with lab-confirmed influenza and the number of lab-confirmed cases of both influenza A and B continued to climb between Oct. 25 and Nov. 1...

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says six people in the province had died of the flu since the end of August, and one of those victims was in Calgary...

...45 people have been hospitalized since late August. There have also been 133 cases of Influenza A and 15 cases of Influenza B in the same time period...
