وقال الدكتور حامد سماحة، رئيس الهيئة، إنه يجرى حاليا دراسة إشراف الأجهزة البيطرية التابعة للهيئة على تحصين الطيور فى مزارع الدواجن، والتأكد من تطبيقها قواعد الأمان الحيوى ومنح هذه المزارع شهادات بيطرية تؤكد أن التحصين تم بإشراف الهيئة. وأضاف سماحة، فى تصريحات صحفية أمس، أن استخدام نظام التحصين الموجه فى التربية المنزلية الذى تسبقه عمليات التقصى النشط، يستهدف تحديد بؤر الإصابة بالمرض وطرق محاصرتها ومنع انتشارها، مشيرا إلى أن التحصين الموجه يعالج القصور والعجز فى إعداد الأطباء البيطريين العاملين فى الهيئة ومديريات الطب البيطرى بالمحافظات، حيث تبلغ احتياجات تحصين الطيور فى التربية الريفية ٣٤ ألف طبيب، و١٣٥٠ سيارة، و٩٠٠ مليون جرعة لقاحات تصل تكلفتها إلى ٥٠٠ مليون جنيه. واعترف رئيس الهيئة بأن التحصين الحالى للتربية الريفية لا يغطى سوى ٢٠% من إجمالى أعداد الطيور فى التربية المنزلية، مشيرا إلى أن هذه المشكلة التى تعانى منها الحملة القومية لمكافحة المرض ترجع إلى العجز فى الاعتمادات المالية المخصصة لتحصين الطيور فى التربية الريفية ،لافتا الى أن متابعة تحصين الطيور فى التربية الريفية تحتاج إلى استخدام نظام الجرعة المنشطة بعد مرور ٢١ يوما من الجرعة الأولى المستخدمة لتحصين الطيور.
