FAIRBANKS?Two cases of mumps have been confirmed in the Fairbanks area, according to a statement from Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Tanana Valley Clinic.
Both cases were reported to be associated with overseas travel.
The Friday night statement from the two health facilities said personnel are working with the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services to prevent the spread of the virus. State health officials are working with hospital and clinic personnel to contact everyone who may have been exposed to the infected patients...
The two medical facilities have also implemented procedures regarding their staffs...
