A new case of measles in Edmonton involving another infant brings the number of cases in the city to six...

...Now health officials are warning people who were in several locations in southeast Edmonton to watch for symptoms.

These locations include:

Zion Baptist Church on April 18, 19 and 20th
the Ellerslie Road Mac's Store near 84th Street on April 19 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Alice's Produce Market on 82nd Street on April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m....

Alberta declares measles outbreak

With a total of 22 cases of measles now confirmed in the province, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is officially declaring a measles outbreak in Calgary, Edmonton and central Alberta.

AHS is also making new recommendations on measles vaccinations.

Effective immediately, infants between six months and 11 months of age who are either living or travelling to measles zones, are eligible for an early dose of measles vaccine...

Alberta Health Services officials said another case of the measles has been confirmed in Edmonton.

AHS said Tuesday that a man in his 30s is the eighth case of measles to be confirmed in the city, and that the case is not travel related...

... Officials released a list of potential exposure locations, and dates and times ? advising that anyone who was at those locations at that time may have been exposed.

Alberta Health Services have declared a measles outbreak in Calgary and central Alberta over, but residents in the Edmonton area will need to wait a little longer.

Officials say they were able to lift the outbreak order because measles disease activity dropped insignificant levels.

According to the AHS, more than 42 days have elapsed since the last date of infectiousness of the latest confirmed case of the disease in Calgary and central Alberta and no new cases of the disease are found...
