In the 2012/13 influenza season, the Provincial Laboratory for Public Health (PLPH) reported 2023 Influenza A cases and 350 Influenza B cases to Alberta Health. There were 63* lab confirmed influenza cases reported to Alberta Health in week 11 and 60 reported in week 10.

There were 30* new hospitalized cases of influenza reported in week 11, and 18 confirmed hospitalized cases in week 10. There have been 748 hospitalized cases in total for this influenza season.

There is one new influenza outbreak to report this week. There was one influenza B outbreak in week 12. There have been 87 influenza outbreaks this season.

In the 2012/13 influenza season, the Provincial Laboratory for Public Health (PLPH) reported 2,499 Influenza A cases and 410 Influenza B cases to Alberta Health. There were 61* lab confirmed influenza cases reported to Alberta Health in week 13 and 58 reported in week 12. While influenza A has been the dominant strain for the bulk of the season, the majority of influenza cases in recent weeks has been due to influenza B.
