Comment: A 23 yo pregnant woman from Gondia died at GMC Nagpur Sep 14. Some commentators (second headline) are getting this outbreak mixed up with the Amravati outbreak. Gondia is East of Nagpur, Amravati is West. But both are probably a mix of diseases with a large swine flu componant.
Viral fever claims 7 lives in Tiroda tehsil in Gondia
Gondia: As many as seven persons have died due to viral fever in Ghagritola (Pendhari) village, around 16 km from Tiroda in Gondia district in last 15 days. District health officer Bhimrao Meshram has reached the village and is taking care of patients personally.
A fortnight ago, there were reports of viral fever in Tiroda tehsil but in last couple of four-five days the number of infected people suddenly increased manifold in Ghagritola. Two patients - Mukti Ingade (55) and Ramchandra Kumbhre - died Wednesday, taking the toll to seven. Earlier five persons - Madan Kambade (35), Taluja Ingde (30), Archana Hatagade (10), Dharampal Fulwate and three-year-old Rina Bisen - had perished to the disease. Speaking to reporters, DHO Meshram said, "It has been confirmed seven persons were casualties of viral fever."
