Health officials to discuss possible Dengue outbreak

Medical sources told OBSERVER media there have been four suspected dengue related deaths for the year and about eight more suspected cases of infected people who have been treated at Mount St John?s Medical Centre.
The sources reported that two of the four persons suspected to have died due to dengue fever this month, worked in the same office at the VC Bird International Airport Terminal.
When this reporter questioned the minister about the aforementioned reports he said, ?We are hearing very similar information as you mentioned. The labs in Trinidad will be asked to analyse the samples that have already been sent. I believe, CARPHA is involved, that is the Caribbean Public Health Agency.

Antigua authorities say worker did not die from dengue

ST JOHN?S, Antigua (CMC) ? Health authorities here say an employee at the VC Bird International Airport did not die from dengue fever but they are still awaiting the results as to the cause of two other deaths there.
A statement from the Ministry of Health did not identify the deceased except to say that tests done by the Trinidad-based Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) were negative.
Media reports here said that the two workers have been placed in isolation at the St John?s Medical Centre and the Ministry of Health said while it is awaiting the results of their tests...
