Measles cases prompt health warning in The Hills, western Sydney

RESIDENTS in The Hills and western Sydney have been warned about an outbreak of measles after two teenagers were disagnosed last week.

Sydney Local Health District said on November 3 and 4, a 17-year-old female from Marayong and an 18-year-old female from Doonside were diagnosed with measles and isolated in two different hospitals.

In all 170 cases have been confirmed in this outbreak, mostly in western and south western Sydney.

Dr Vicky Sheppeard of the SLHD measles is easily spread, warning residents to be careful and watch out for symptoms...

Alert over baby girl contracting measles virus in Adelaide

A FOUR-MONTH-OLD Adelaide girl has contracted the highly infectious measles virus, SA Health says...

...Anyone at the following locations at the specified times should contact their doctor:

Munno Para Shopping Centre at Smithfield on Monday, November 19 or Tuesday, November 20
GP Plus Health Care Centre, Elizabeth on Thursday, November 22 between 10.30am and 12.30pm
Lyell McEwin Hospital from 1.30pm on Thursday, November 22. The hospital is attempting to contact patients who attended the hospital.

SA HEALTH has issued a measles warning in Elizabeth after a second case of the virus was confirmed in the past two months...

...Anyone who visited the following locations on the below dates is asked to be alert for symptoms and see a GP immediately if they become ill.

MUNNO Para Shopping Centre, Smithfield, on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20.

GP PLUS Health Care Centre, Elizabeth, on Thursday, November 22.

LYELL McEwin Hospital on Thursday, November 22...

...SA Health is alerting anyone who was in the following locations to look out for symptoms over the next few weeks because they could be at risk of developing the virus.

- Friday 30 November, Centrelink Enfield, 298-302 Main North Road, Prospect,

between 11am and 1:30pm

- Friday 30 November, Sefton Plaza Shopping Centre, 225-239 Main North Road,

Sefton Park, between 12pm and 2:30pm

- Friday 30 November, Para Hills Clinic, 513 Bridge Road, Para Hills, between 4pm

and 6:30pm

- Saturday 1 December, Para Hills Clinic, 513 Bridge Road, Para Hills, between

11am and 1:30pm

This is the sixth case of measles reported in South Australia during 2012...
