Ruth Wilson Grover

News Death Notice

GROVER, Ruth Wilson lately of Austin, Texas, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 of complications from the flu. The 92-year-old beloved mother of two, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of seven was born June 21, 1917 in Springfield. Burial will be in Springfield at Ferncliff Cemetery at 2 pm on Thursday, December 17th. Friends and family are invited to attend a short service. Mrs. Grover was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Grover. She was also predeceased by her sister, Erma Wilson Walker, and her parents Daniel and Emma Wilson. Mrs. Grover is survived by her daughters: Linda Bennett of Hudson, Florida, and Lorraine Mahan of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren: Hailey Heffron of Crystal River, Florida, Joel Mahan of Waco, Texas, Laura Morgan of Austin, Abby Mahan of Waco, and Hannah Mahan of Nacogdoches, Texas; and her great-grandchildren: Julianne Moore, Kaitlin Heffron, Brian Heffron, Alexandra Heffron and Madeline Heffron of Crystal River, Florida, Noah Mahan of Waco, and Violet Morgan of Austin. Mrs. Grover attended Springfield (South) High School and Ohio State University. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Levine Realty of Springfield until her retirement. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader and student of history and psychology and an unpublished author of short stories and essays. She had a quick sense of humor that endeared everyone. She will be deeply missed. The LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME is serving the family.
