OTTAWA ? The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued an alert about raw mussels harvested in British Columbia that may contain paralytic shellfish toxins.
The mussels were harvested between Oct. 2 and Oct. 14 in B.C.'s Okeover inlet and sold in 10 and 20 lb. packages.
They were processed by Aquatec Seafoods, Ltd., Taylor Shellfish Canada, Fanny Bay Oysters and Union Bay, and were distributed in B.C., Alberta, Manitoba and possibly elsewhere...
