Call for guideline for poultry industries

A three-day training workshop for the journalists on ?Avian Influenza and Pandemic Influenza Awareness and Preparedness? began in the CERDI auditorium in Gazipur on Wednesday.
The workshop was organised by the Press Institute of Bangladesh with support from UNICEF.
People addressing the workshop stressed the need for a unique guideline for poultry industries to combat the spread of bird flu.
They suggested that the poultry bird marketing policy should be changed, poultry farms should be set up far away from human habitation, farmers and people should be made aware and ways should be worked out to prevent further spread of bird flu.
In the opening ceremony, Mridula Bhattacharya, director general of the press institute, was present as chief guest. Jennifer Finch, project manager of UNICEF communication section, was present as guest of honour and Mahfuzur Rahman, director (training) of the press institute chaired the session. http://www.newagebd.com/met.html
