Bird flu epidemic temporarily under control

Nhan Dan ? Over the past two weeks, there have been no more new outbreaks of bird flu, foot-and-mouth and blue ear (porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome) diseases nationwide. At present, bird flu epidemic is temporarily under control, according to the Veterinary Department.

The department also announced that that Kon Tum and Yen Bai provinces are yet to be free from the foot-and-mouth disease for 21 days while Dak Lak and Quang Nam provinces are also yet to be free from blue ear epidemic.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has given guidance to Kon Tum, Yen Bai, Dak Lak and Quang Nam provinces to isolate and stamp out any possible outbreak in order to prevent them from spreading.
