Number of deaths from H1N1 flu virus advances in Minas Gerais

They were the 1918 and gone, as not enough the scene of world war, a pandemic swept the globe and killed thousands of people. The Spanish flu - as it became known because of the large number of deaths in Spain - was nothing more than the flu. Almost a century later, in the year 2016, it continues to scare. And to kill. Mutations of the virus and its various subtypes, such as H1N1, guarantee the free and timeless movement of the threat. After the national vaccination campaign, which ended on Friday, data from the latest epidemiological bulletin of the State Department of Health (SES) show that the disease has killed at least 27 people in Minas Gerais this year, at least 16 of them by subtype H1N1. The profile of the victims in the state draws attention: the absolute majority had at least one risk factor for complications and did not take the recommended antiviral term - 48 hours between the first symptoms and the beginning of treatment. But there are also victims outside the so-called risk group and a stigma load and prejudice that affects families of dead patients.
