The Secretariat of Health of Bahia (Sesab) confirmed this Tuesday (4) the first death by contamination of the virus H1N1, known as swine flu. The victim, aged 27, lived in the city from Guanambi, in southwestern Bahia, and was admitted to the local hospital on October 10. The patient, identified as Juarez Oliveira da Silva, died on October 17, but the confirmation of the death by the virus H1N1 occurred on 28 October. According to the 30TH Regional Health Board (Dires), after entering the Hospital from Guanambi, the young man was transferred in critical condition to the General Hospital of Victory of Conquest, which is in the region, on the 15th of October and died two days after hospitalization. Yet, according to the 30TH Dires, headquartered in from Guanambi, the material of the victim was collected for analysis in a laboratory of Salvador and the diagnosis confirmed the contamination and death by action of the virus H1N1 in the last October 28.

Swine flu strikes in Bahia: two people die in Guanambi
The Health Secretary of Bahia (Sesab) confirmed on Tuesday, 4, two cases of contamination of the H1N1 virus, known as swine flu. The first, a 27-year-old man died on 17 October in Guanambi, Bahia Southwest, being the first confirmed death in the State. The other case is a person who is hospitalized in Salvador and follows in treatment.According to 30th Regional Health Board (we Dires), the young man was admitted to the Hospital of Guanambi on 14 October and died three days later.
