Health officials investigate salmonella outbreak that?s struck 30 Southern Albertans since mid-December

Southern Alberta health officials are trying to get to the bottom of a salmonella outbreak that?s sickened more than 30 people since mid-December.
Environmental public health in Lethbridge and Health Canada First Nations and Inuit Health are investigating the ?acute outbreak? in southwest Alberta, according to Alberta Health Services.
The first case was reported Dec. 13, and since then more than 30 other residents have fallen ill.
An AHS statement didn?t provide specific information about where the outbreak is centred, but noted most of the cases are in rural areas of southwest Alberta.
?It?s suspected many of the infections are secondary infections meaning it is spreading among household contacts,? according to the AHS statement...
