STOCKTON - Eight special one-day whooping cough clinics will be held throughout San Joaquin County, beginning today in Manteca, in an effort to prevent the spread of the serious respiratory disease, also known as pertussis, that is sweeping California.
To date, there have been 39 reported cases in San Joaquin County, but no deaths. Statewide, there have been 2,774 reported cases as of Tuesday, including seven deaths from whooping cough, all in Latino infants younger than 2 months...
