The sanitary authorities of Cambodia investigate a presumption focus of avi?ria grippe in the north of the country, where if it after detected an uncommon number of people with respiratory infections and fever the death of some animals, between them chickens.

The team of health sent to the region found, however, plus a problem, because of torrential rains and of the poor road infrastructure, with almost inexistent roads in some stretches.

According to Hor lieutenant governor Kim Urinar, of the district of O'Chum, in the province of Ratanakirri, the northeast of Phnom Penh, the car where the team travelled was bogged in the mud because "rain was very intense and the roads are bad".

The lieutenant governor added that he waits that the team arrives in the Tuesday at the affected region.

The epidemiologist of the World-wide Organization of Sa?de (OMS) Megge Miller explained that the Cambodian Health department sent a team to the region to collect samples of all the sick people with similar symptoms to the ones of the avi?ria grippe.

"We will only have these results in the Thursday, because (the samples) they have that to be carried by road and is a very remote area. Sufficiently we are interested in seeing the results", affirmed the specialist.

Miller standed out that Ratanakirri is not one of the considered provinces of high risk in rela?ao to a focus of avi?ria grippe due to low concentration of chickens in the region.

However, the province is located in the border with the Vietnam, one of the countries more affected by virus H5N1, and possesss a national park where wild beasts and migratory birds live.

Since the 2003, when the avi?ria grippe reappeared, illness it caused the death of 113 people in nine countries, between them 6 Cambodians and 42 Vietnameses, according to data of the OMS.

Most likely those samples will all be spoiled, just like the rest of the samples.

But you can't say they aren't testing, right!

The whole thing is just one big cluster f.
