RAIPUR: In view of the huge backlog of swine flu tests at the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), Delhi, which has been causing inordinate delays in receipt of reports, Chhattisgarh health department has allowed empanelled private labs in the state to conduct tests for H1NI virus at rates to be decided soon.

With almost one positive case of swine flu being reported in the state daily for the last 10 days, the health department decided to allow private labs to conduct the tests in order to avoid delays in treatment. The decision to allow private labs to run the tests was taken a meeting chaired by Secretary Health, Vikas Sheel, on Thursday
