Anthrax epidemic response emergency drill held

This newspaper (reporter Zhang Jun) reported that recently, the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention held a city-wide emergency drill for anthrax epidemic response to further enhance the city's health emergency response capabilities and effectively protect the safety of people's lives and property.
The drill was conducted against the backdrop of anthrax epidemic, and involved a comprehensive drill covering the entire process, all elements, and all scenarios. It was also a demonstration teaching drill. The drill included 11 scenarios, including case discovery and reporting, emergency response initiation and risk assessment, on-site epidemiological investigation, on-site sampling, and laboratory testing. It was also the first drill to be conducted by combining real-life recording of the response with on-site practice, which was conducive to participants understanding and mastering the anthrax epidemic response procedures in a short period of time and improving the effectiveness of the drill.
At the drill summary meeting, four experts from the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention commented on the epidemic investigation and disposal, sampling and laboratory testing, disinfection and sterilization, emergency management and organizational forms.
A relevant person in charge of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention said that through this exercise, the team was strengthened, the plan was tested, the emergency response procedures for infectious disease outbreaks were further standardized, and the ability and level of the city's disease control system to respond to sudden infectious disease prevention and control were comprehensively improved, laying a good foundation for the future handling of public health emergencies.
