Details: Recently, many netizens have shared their health conditions on social media platforms, stating that "the COVID-19 strain in August is a new and very virulent one." On August 21, the National Health Commission held a press conference, where a researcher from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention stated that the COVID-19 epidemic experienced cyclical fluctuations in the previous period, reaching a peak in mid-August, and is now showing a downward trend, with a more pronounced decline in the south. The overall intensity of the epidemic is comparable to that of the previous two years, with the disease still predominantly presenting as mild cases. Monitoring has not detected any variant strains that could pose a significant public health risk, nor has the epidemic fluctuation significantly impacted the overall medical order.
