Our case highlights the importance of early diagnosis in respiratory illness and timely detection of drug resistance so that antiviral treatment can be initiated and modified, particularly for high-risk groups. Vaccination and early, carefully dosed antiviral treatment are key to mitigating severe influenza cases, especially in immunocompromised patients.
