The title is a little alarming but this is a single site with only 18 patients included and the PCR picked up infection from both swab types although NP gave lower CT values. NP is not suitable for voluntary mass testing of children as once they have had a swab rammed up to just short of their brain they will not want to come back a second time so nasal or saliva is still the more practical option.
