Three new cases of AH1N1
AH1N1 Three new cases were confirmed by the National Institute of Health to the Departmental Health Secretariat, after studying several tests sent to the National body. The cases presented in Ayapel and Lorica, relate to a woman 54 years of age and two children between ages 2 and 8 years respectively. With confirmation of these new cases of the virus AH1N1 Cordoba Department reaches 13 confirmed cases of the disease. The Departmental Health Secretariat, continuing to carry out control actions in the field of Public Health recommended for these cases by the Ministry of Social Protection, the same way is calling all Cordoba to take preventive measures to avoid infection, following the instructions on hygiene and care.

Bogot?, October 27 .- Another 13 people died of human influenza in Colombia, which amounted to 131 the number of deaths in the country by the disease, said today the National Institute of Health (NIH).

In a report, the state agency said that since last May, when it detected the presence of the H1N1 virus that causes human influenza, a total of two thousand 660 cases in the country have tested positive in laboratory tests.

The pandemic, which has beaten the force at Bogota, has spread to 31 of the 32 departments of Colombia, so that the Institute raised controls to mitigate the impact on the population.

The 13 new deaths occurred in the last week in patients with respiratory problems, whereupon it offered a special health service to address and prevent similar cases are complicated, said the INS.

Active Colombian government prevention campaign against influenza A

November 12, 2009, 07:43 Bogota, Nov 12 (Prensa Latina) The Colombian government today activated a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of knowing and early diagnosis of influenza virus A (H1N1), to mitigate their spread and evolution.

From this Thursday the Colombians find in major cities of the country a group of young managers to publicize prevention measures against the pandemic and the symptoms that can help make an early diagnosis.

Consistent with an office in the Ministry of Social Protection, these young people will be known as "La Tropa" and simulate the spread of influenza A, while delivering the cards with information about the virus.

In turn, the initiative also extend to medical centers in the country, with the aim of enhancing awareness of health professionals about the new flu.

Authorities say that now the call is for all Colombians know the symptoms of the virus in order to mitigate their impact and avoid delay in seeking medical attention.

According to a recent official report, in the country have recorded 136 deaths by lethal influenza and two thousand reported 933 cases of confirmed H1N1 pandemic virus, including deaths. Meanwhile, its circulation amounts to 31 departments of the 32 that make up the country, four districts and 182 municipalities.

Two more cases of AH1N1
Two new cases of the flu AH1N1 were confirmed by the National Institute of Health to the Departmental Health Secretariat, after studying the reviews sent to the state system. One case was reported in Monteria on a 33-year-old and one case was reported in Lorica, in less than 4 years. The patients are recovering. With the confirmation of two cases from the Department of C?rdoba virus reaches 16 confirmed cases of the disease. The Departmental Health Secretariat continues to perform control actions on Public Health recommended for these cases by the Ministry of Social Protection, and it performs inspections to verify the implementation of new protocols for handling the virus.

Report that influenza A (H1N1) left 160 people dead in Colombia
The Government said that on 24 influenza A (H1N1) has killed 160 people, nine of them in the past week, while 3174 cases have been confirmed since last May.
"Until 24 November in Colombia have reported confirmed cases of the 3174 pandemic virus (H1N1) including 160 deaths. It has confirmed the virus circulation in 31 departments, four districts and 188 municipalities," the Ministry of Protection Social.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), until 15 November 2009, around the world has more than 526,060 confirmed cases of pandemic influenza A (H1N1) and about 6770 deaths.

"In the 35 countries of the Americas has confirmed a total of 190,765 cases including 4806 deaths," the report is delivered every Tuesday. (Xinhua)
