Costa Rica strengthens measures against influenza virus A (H1N1)

Health authorities of Costa Rica said today that starting next Monday at medical centers strengthen preventive measures against influenza A (H1N1).
The Deputy Minister of Health Ana Morice said that the country has at least 30 000 vaccines to strengthen the process of immunization of the population about the virus.
The application of the drug remain as priority populations for high-risk patients such as pregnant women, patients with hypertension, morbid obesity or respiratory problems.
They join groups among them prioritize care for children under three years of age and health workers from medical centers, due to its continuing exposure to infection.
The chief stressed that continued surveillance is carried out in the town were already affected by the virus, while maintaining monitoring medical centers in patients with symptoms related to evil.
The first death related to influenza A (H1N1) in Costa Rica took place on May 9, 2009 and so far, this Central American country for this reason adds a total of 56 deaths. End
