Four more people died from influenza virus AH1N1 in our country, bringing the total casualties amounted to 21.
This is one of the highest numbers of deaths registered in Costa Rica, which leads to fight influenza AH1N1.
On Friday July 24 the number of deaths reached 17, but this rose to 21 Monday: "If you add up the totals of the weekend then the figure reaches 21: the characteristics of the victims will be given on Tuesday, said Dr. Daniel Salas, an official of the Ministry of Health.
Confirmed cases of people with HIV also increased, as reported 606, five patients were hospitalized in delicate condition, two of whom are children.
Although it is believed that the high phase of the disease would last 15 days, Costa Rica faces the third week with deaths from the virus.
"We're still in the upper part of the attack, because it is a drop in the number of cases, although it must be remembered that one should not let our guard down even when it is confirmed that the cases are declining," said Dr. Chambers.
