Dallas County swine flu death total climbs to 21

Dallas County Health and Human Services reports that two more Dallas County residents who died recently were infected with H1N1.
According to a news release, one patient, a 54-year-old male, had underlying medical conditions. The other patient was a 46-year-old female. It is unknown whether she had any underlying medical conditions.
For medical confidentiality and personal privacy reasons, DCHHS will not provide additional identifying information.
These deaths bring the county's confirmed H1N1-related death total to 21.
The threat of flu remains as 2009 H1N1 continues to circulate in our community.
Health and Human Services says because the vaccine is the best tool availble to fight against the flu, the public is urged to get the H1N1 vaccine as soon as possible.
Dallas County received a shipment of about 19,200 doses of the vaccine today. DCHHS plans to allocate some of the vaccine for a public clinic that will be held for uninsured Dallas County residents by appointment only at Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 7550 South Hampton Road in Dallas. DCHHS Director Zachary Thompson is also working on a plan in collaboration with local pharmacies to make the vaccine available to the insured population of Dallas County. More details will be made available Nov. 17.
