Delhi gets its first 2 dengue cases

Dengue has already hit the Capital, with two people, including a doctor, having tested positive at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). While the MCD is still in the process of purchasing anti-larvicides to control the spread of vector-borne diseases, the two cases, admitted in AIIM S, tested positive for the disease on Tuesday, suggesting that dengue may have hit the Capital this year way earlier than expected.
Last year, the first dengue case was reported in June, and 6,229 people had contracted the disease, which led to eight deaths.
