Denmark buys big favor of flu vaccine against H1N1, which previously went under the name of swine influenza.

Based on a recommendation from professional Sundhedsstyrelsen Folketing's Finance Committee approved yesterday that Denmark buys 3.1 million. doses of vaccine against influenza.

Health Jakob Axel Nielsen (K) is satisfied with the Finance Committee's decision.

- I am very pleased that the Finance Committee has given its agreement to purchase the vaccine against the new flu, so we also in the field is well prepared, that Jakob Axel Nielsen fixed in a written commentary.

Purchase of vaccines means that Denmark is primarily to offer people who are at particular risk of developing serious illness linked to an H1N1-influenza pandemic, vaccination against influenza.

Each person should have 2 doses to be fully protected and it is presumed that delivery can begin in autumn 2009.

Jakob Axel Nielsen stresses that the purchase provides "good sense", even if flu is a mild course.

- Although we have found that flu has a relatively mild course, it obviously makes sense to offer vaccination to those parts of the population who are at particular risk.

Currently, over 30 Danes infected with the flu. (40 as of june 26 ,ed)
