The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration said the measures were precautionary after tests in Germany indicated that some birds were infected with the H5N1 virus that can also harm humans. Denmark was one of several European countries that in 2006 reported cases of the virus, mainly in wild fowl but there was also a find among birds kept in a backyard holding.

If all the european continent countries will do the same at the same time, the virus there will remain in wilderness only (with food control in place, and no smuggling).
