[h=3]Abstract[/h] Each year, influenza infection is responsible for substantial morbidity and mortality across the globe. Because confirmatory testing is often not performed, the total burden of influenza on annual cardiopulmonary (respiratory and cardiac) hospitalizations is likely even higher.
