طالب معوض خطاب عضو مجلس الشورى، الحكومة بالإعلان عن الإجراءات والتدابير التى اتخذتها للتصدى لمرض أنفلونزا الخنازير، خاصة بعد ارتفاع معدلات الإصابة والوفاة خلال الفترة الماضية. أشار النائب فى اقتراح تقدم به إلى رئيس مجلس الشورى، إلى أن الفترة الماضية بدأ يظهر الوباء فى بعض المحافظات وارتفعت حالات الإصابة بالمرض خلال الفترة من أكتوبر 2010 وحتى الآن، حيث بلغت أعداد المصابين أكثر من خمسمائة حالة وبلغت أعداد الوفيات ما يقرب من ثلاثين حالة، وقد أحال رئيس المجلس الاقتراح للجنة الزراعية لمناقشته. وقال النائب إن نسبة الإصابة والوفاة بسبب الوباء أقل بكثير مقارنة بالفترة من أكتوبر وحتى ديسمبر من العام الماضى، وطالب النائب الحكومة بسرعة التدخل باتخاذ كافة التدابير اللازمة للتصدى لهذا الوباء الخطير مع زيادة حملات التوعية للمواطنين للحد من انتشاره.
