سادت حالة من الذعر بين أولياء أمور تلاميذ مدارس مطروح بعد ظهور أول حالة اشتباه بين طلاب وتلاميذ مدارس مطروح، واحتجاز طالبة ثانوى بمستشفى مطروح العام، بعد ظهور الأعراض المشابهة لمرض أنفلونزا الخنازير عليها، حيث استقبلت مستشفى مطروح العام المصابة "و. ص.ع " (16 عاما) طالبة بالمدرسة الثانوية بنات، وتم عزلها وتقديم العلاج والرعاية الطبية اللازمة، ووضعها تحت الملاحظة الدائمة، وأخذ عينات منها وإرسالها للمعامل المركزية بوزارة الصحة، لمعرفة إصابتها بفيروس أنفلونزا الخنازير من عدمه.
على جانب آخر قامت مستشفى السلوم المركزى باحتجاز وعزل شاب مصرى عائد من ليبيا بعد اشتباه الحجر الصحى بمنفذ السلوم، فى ظهور أعراض الإصابة بمرض أنفلونزا الخنازير على ربيع عارف فهمى (32 عاما) من المنيا، ووضعه تحت الملاحظة، وتقديم العلاج لحين ورود نتائج التحاليل من معامل وزارة الصحة.
