Four people died of swine flu at West Middlesex Hospital at the height of the outbreak, a report has revealed.
And the family of one of the patients, who all died after contracting the H1N1 virus, has launched a legal battle against the Isleworth hospital.
The hospital said it could not comment on the legal case as it was ongoing.
The hospital report said all four had underlying health problems.
It said: ?Storage of personal protective equipment was difficult, with no extra capacity available within procurement or elsewhere in the trust for central storage.
?Due to the financial circumstances of the trust there was also an understandable reluctance to invest in storage facilities (containers) or to hold stock on-site or off-site, which could not be used over time after the pandemic.?
It said fitting staff with masks ?proved difficult since it was unclear which masks would be available. It was also difficult to get staff to be fit tested prior to the first patients arriving in their departments, by which time it was too late.?
