Avian influenza: the situation in France
Since March 2023, France has experienced a sharp slowdown in the increase in the number of outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) on its territory. However, vigilance and compliance with prevention rules remain imperative for professionals in the poultry sector and the general public (walkers, hunters, etc.). Cases of avian influenza are still detected in wildlife in France and in Europe, and any new outbreak that appears on farms must be eradicated quickly.
As of August 3, 2023, France has identified a total of 402 HPAI outbreaks detected in livestock since the start of the crisis on August 1, [SUP]2022[/SUP] .
