Indre-et-Loire. Bird flu breaks out on poultry farm
An aviary grip outbreak is confirmed for the Indre-et-Loire prefecture on February 16, 2022. These are poultry on a farm located in Beaumont-Village.
This is the first outbreak of influenza identified in the department after analyzes carried out on Saturday February 12, the results of which were delivered on Tuesday February 15, 2022.
Pedagogical Farm of Beaumont-Village
The exploitation or poultry stricken for the H5N1 type virus is located south-east of Tours in Beaumont-Village in an educational farm.
After the slaughter of the 30 animals, the site will be disinfected, as required by the procedure.
Area monitoring and protection
The prefecture reports that a surveillance zone within a 10 km radius and a protection zone at 3km from the exploitation area have been put in place.
They aim to prevent the entry and exit of birds in these sectors which concern the communes of Beaumont-Village, Genillé and Orbigny for the protection zone.
The surveillance zone also encompasses the municipalities of Liège, Céré-la-Ronde, Nouans-les-Fontaines, Montrésor, Villeloin-Coulangé and Chemillé-sur-Indrois...
