Avian flu continues to spread. A new case of avian influenza has been confirmed in a poultry farm in Beauchamps-sur-Huillard, the Loiret prefecture informed by press release this Wednesday, October 26. The detection of this outbreak should lead to the slaughter -in progress- of the 7,700 turkeys reared on the site, i.e. the entire herd.
A prefectural decree has been issued, defining a temporary control zone within a radius of 10 km around the farm concerned, extending in particular to the municipalities of Bellegarde, Châtenoy, Coudroy, Lorris, Auvilliers-en-Gâtinais, Noyers or still Chailly-en-Gâtinais. Holders of poultry in this area are asked to register at the town hall, or on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture .
