The existence of this first outbreak of avian influenza has been confirmed by the prefecture of Creuse. Regulated areas of protection and surveillance are in place in this department but also in Corrèze.

This first outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was confirmed on Tuesday January 9 by state services in a " small farm housing chickens, ducks and turkeys" in the town of Flayat.

This is a hobby farm holding a small number of ornamental birds in the commune of Lépaud.

A second outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has just been confirmed on Monday January 16 in a hobby farm holding a small number of ornamental birds (peacocks, ducks and geese) in the department of the Creuse, in the town of Lépaud.

The epidemiological investigation confirms an immediate link with the active circulation of the virus within wildlife frequenting the same pond...
