The german institute for the surveillance of infectious diseases, Robert Koch Institut (RKI), has confirmed case 12 of swine flu in Germany on the 11th of May. It?s a woman from Bavaria (South-Germany). She probably was infected in a hospital in Mexico, where she had worked as a health care worker.

Although there had been an infection of swine flu in a man, who had been travelling only in the USA (Case 11) and not in Mexico, up to date RKI?s declaration of the epidemiolgical ?regions of risk? still is listing only Mexico and has not been updated since the 2nd of May 2009 (This epidemiological aspect targeting ?regions of risk? is important for the definition of ?a suspected case of swine flu? in Germany).
