Germany: Pandemic influenza reports only on a weekly basis.Robert Koch Institute will no longer publish daily case counts

On 12th October 2009, Robert Koch Institute, Germany?s top institute for the surveillance of infectious diseases, made the announcement that it no longer will publish daily reports on confirmed cases of pandemic influenza A H1N1 in Germany. Instead, these data now only will be published on a weekly basis in its ?weekly epidemiological reports?.

The latest weekly epidemiological report, published on 12 October 2009, refers to week 40 from 30 September to 6 October 2009:
?21,603 confirmed cases and two deaths?.

In this weekly report, the second German death (5 year old boy, who had died on 6 October 2009 at Munich Schwabing) officially has been confirmed by the RKI as caused by pandemic influenza H1N1 (as had been in the ECDC?s daily update report on 08 October 2009, 09:00 hours (CEST))

Last data on the basis of daily RKI report had been published on 9 October with data timestamp 8 October, 3.00 p.m. CEST:

The Stiko made recommendations regarding which people should be prioritized if the vaccine is initially available in limited quantities:
