Meningitis Outbreak: 1 dead, 9 hospitalised at Damongo SHS

One student of Damongo Senior High School (SHS) in the West Gonja District of the Northern Region has been confirmed dead and 9 others are currently on admission at the Damongo Government Hospital following a reported outbreak of meningitis.

The deceased person identified as Nantomah Fadila, a first year home economics student from Tamale, collapsed this morning and was rushed to the hospital where she died shortly on admission.

According to reports, other 9 students showed similar signs of the disease and were also rushed to the hospital and are currently responding to treatment...
