May 6 2010, 20:08 Guatemala, May 6 (Prensa Latina) The Minister of Health, Ludwig Ovalle, today urged Guatemalans to take the necessary measures for the outbreak of the virus A (H1N1), which killed six people in during the year.

Ovalle called on citizens to become aware of the danger of the pathogen, especially at the beginning of winter (rainy season) when multiplying the traditional influenza infections.

So claimed the practice of preventive measures such as those developed in 2009, the year of emergence of the disease, such as avoiding crowds, and go to health centers if there are symptoms of the flu with headaches and fever.

For the treatment to those infected by the Ministry of Health has 35 000 portions of the drug Tamiflu, which healed with more than one thousand infected last year, while 18 deaths were inevitable.

The institution received 260 000 virus preventive vaccine in the coming days and 520 000 doses have to be applied to people most at risk, including the personnel in this sector.
