PARKERSBURG - The state Department of Education and West Virginia Bureau for Public Health issued a public health alert Friday, warning student wrestlers at a recent state tournament may have been exposed to a communicable disease.
According to a release Friday by the state Department of Education, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources' Infectious Disease Program "has confirmed multiple cases of communicable diseases" potentially stemming from a regional tournament Feb 18-19 and the state wrestling tournament Feb. 24-26 in Huntington.
The release did not identify the regional tournament or the state tournament, only providing the dates of the events. The state wrestling tournament was the only wrestling tournament to occur Feb 24-26 in West Virginia...
