    • Cleaning and disinfection activities were completed in the premises concerned by the outbreak on 29 October 2009; since then, no other suspicion of highly pathogenic avian influenza has been reported. All birds in the farm were culled, no restocking has been carried out, and the premises are then empty.
    • According to the Article 10.4.3. of the OIE Terrestrial Animal Health Code (2009), a country can regain its health status 3 months after the disinfection of all affected establishments. Therefore, Spain declares regain its notifiable avian influenza free country status with effect from 29 January 2010.
