First swine flu case in Himachal

Shimla, April 4 (PTI) The first swine flu case in Himachal Pradesh was reported today when a woman from Mandi district tested positive for the disease at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) hospital here. It is the first case of H1N1 reported in Himachal Pradesh this year and the 55-year-old patient was admitted in the isolation ward in IGMC, Medical Superintendent at the hospital Dr K. S.Rana said.

In the first death in Himachal due to H1N1 virus this year, a 55-year-old woman, who tested positive for swine flu, died in Shimla on Saturday, a health official confirmed.
State surveillance officer Omesh Bharti told UNI that the victim, a resident of Sarkaghat town in Mandi district, died in the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla. She tested positive on Wednesday.

Shimla, April 25 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh has reported its second death this year due to swine flu, a health official said Wednesday.
Shimla, Dec 18 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh has reported a third death this year due to swine flu, an official said Tuesday.
A 76-year-old woman from Kangra district died Monday evening in the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) here, a health official told IANS.
The victim was a resident of Palampur area and was suffering from breathlessness for the past one week.
