HOUSTON - A girl between the ages of 5 and 9 died from a confirmed case of swine flu, according to the Houston Health Department.
The girl died Nov. 17 and is now the 31st resident of the greater Houston area to die from H1N1.
The death toll includes 11 residents of Houston and 14 of Harris County, as well as more from Fort Bend, Brazoria, Montgomery and Galveston counties.
Nationwide, there have been about 4,000 H1N1 deaths, including 540 children.
