DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1200 PM CST (1800 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Rachel was
located near latitude 14.0 North, longitude 101.5 West. Rachel is
moving toward the west-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h). A continued
west-northwestward motion at a faster forward speed are expected
for the next few days. On the forecast track, the center of Rachel
is expected to move parallel to, but stay offshore of, the coast of
southwestern Mexico.

Maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher
gusts. Gradual strengthening is expected during the next few days,
and Rachel is forecast to become a hurricane by mid-week.


Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 160 miles (260 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

WIND: Tropical storm conditions are expected in the Tropical Storm
Warning area by Tuesday. Tropical storm conditions are possible
within the Tropical Storm Watch area by Tuesday night or Wednesday.

RAINFALL: Rachel is expected to produce rainfall totals of 3 to 6
inches, with isolated maximum totals of 8 inches across coastal
portions of the Mexican states of Guerrero, Michoacán and Colima.

This rainfall may produce flooding and mudslides, especially in
areas of steep terrain.

A Hurricane Warning is in effect for...

French Frigate Shoals.


A Hurricane Warning means that hurricane conditions are expected
somewhere within the warning area. A warning is typically issued 36
hours before the anticipated first occurrence of
tropical-storm-force winds, conditions that make outside
preparations difficult or dangerous. Preparations to protect life
and property should be rushed to completion.

A Hurricane Watch may be required for additional portions of the
Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument later today.

DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 800 AM HST (1800 UTC), the center of Hurricane Nolo was located
near latitude 17.4 North, longitude 162.8 West. Nolo is moving
toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A turn toward the
northwest is forecast later today, with a turn toward the north
expected on Tuesday. On the forecast track, the center of Nolo will
remain well southwest and west of the main Hawaiian Islands but will
approach the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument on Tuesday.


Maximum sustained winds are near 155 mph (250 km/h) with higher
gusts. Nolo is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. A gradual weakening trend is likely to begin
tonight, followed by faster weakening through the middle of the
week.


Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 40 miles (65 km) from
the center
and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 150
miles (240 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 929 mb (27.44 inches).

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

WIND: Hurricane conditions are expected in the Hurricane Warning
area in the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument by Wednesday,
with Tropical Storm conditions likely by Tuesday.


SURF: Swells generated by Nolo will affect south-facing shores of
the main Hawaiian Islands for the next few days. These swells are
likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
Large surf associated with Nolo will affect the Papahanaumokuakea
Marine National Monument beginning later today. These large waves
will likely inundate some of the low-lying atolls, especially from
French Frigate Shoals to Nihoa. Please consult products from your
local weather office.

located near latitude 35.2 North, longitude 46.2 West. Hanna is
moving toward the east-southeast near 15 mph (24 km/h) and and this
motion is forecast to continue over the next day or two followed by
a turn to the east-northeast.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph (75 km/h) with higher gusts.
Small intensity fluctuations are forecast during the next couple of
days. Hanna is likely to become a post-tropical cyclone by the
latter part of this week.


Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles (150 km)
from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb (29.59 inches).

At 200 AM MST (0900 UTC), the center of Hurricane Polo was located
near latitude 26.2 North, longitude 111.9 West. Polo is moving
toward the northeast near 10 mph (17 km/h) and this motion is
expected to continue along with a significant acceleration this
morning. On the forecast track, the core of Polo will continue
moving across Baja California Sur for another few hours tonight,
then move inland over southern Sonora late this morning
.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 80 mph (130 km/h)
with higher gusts. Some slight additional weakening is forecast
during the next couple of hours while the center is over Baja
California Sur, but Polo is still expected to be a hurricane when it
makes its second landfall in mainland Mexico. Rapid weakening is
forecast on Tuesday when Polo moves well inland over mainland
Mexico.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 978 mb (28.88 inches).

Baja California Sur.

near latitude 27.8 North, longitude 110.9 West. Polo is moving
toward the northeast near 17 mph (28 km/h) and this motion is
expected to continue with an increase in forward speed today. On
the forecast track, the core of Polo will move inland over southern
Sonora near Guaymas during the next few hours and cross portions of
northwestern Mexico this afternoon.

Maximum sustained winds are near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher
gusts. Little change in strength is expected before landfall.
Rapid weakening is expected after landfall as the center crosses
northwestern Mexico.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from the
center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 90 miles
(150 km). The Mexican Navy automated station in Guaymas recently
reported a wind gust of 52 mph (84 km/h).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 981 mb (28.97 inches).
