As dengue fever cases are rapidly growing across the state, the Karnataka government has declared it as an epidemic. The state government has directed the health officials to take strict measures to control the spread of dengue in the state.

According to data released by the health department, Karnataka has recorded 25,408 dengue cases in the state and death toll raised to 12. Bengaluru has the highest number of dengue patients with over 11 thousand positive cases, including three deaths. Other areas like Mandya, Hassan, Mysuru and Kalaburgi also have significant number of cases...

​Patna: Dengue cases in Bihar are rising rapidly with 55 new cases being reported in the past 24 hours, said officials here on Monday.

Of these, 27 have been identified in Patna. Within Patna, the Azimabad zone has been particularly affected, recording 13 cases, while Kankarbagh and Bankipur zones have reported five cases each.

On Saturday, dengue claimed two more lives in the state capital, bringing the total number of deaths due to the disease in the state to five.

Beyond Patna, other districts are also seeing a rise in cases. Five new cases were reported in Samastipur and four in Saran within the last 24 hours.​..

...Since January, a total of 1,123 dengue cases have been reported, with Patna being particularly affected, accounting for 523 of these cases.

In addition to Patna, districts such as Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Siwan, and West Champaran are also experiencing significant numbers of dengue cases. The situation is compounded by a rise in viral flu cases in the state.​..

The dengue fever outbreak in Lucknow continues to worsen. In the last two days, 78 new dengue cases have been reported. New Delhi: More than 2,400 dengue cases have been registered in month of October, the highest in the past four years, according to official data.

This figure is more than double the number of cases recorded in September and the highest for any month this year so far, the data shows.
Spike In Cases of Malaria and Chikungunya

In October this year, the incidence of malaria and chikungunya, in addition to dengue, reached their highest levels in the past four years.

Malaria cases surged significantly, with 279 reported in October, compared to just 37 in 2023, 75 in 2022, 47 in 2021, and 34 in 2020.

Similarly, chikungunya cases also saw a sharp increase, totaling 96 in October, up from only 5 in October 2023. In 2022, there were 17 cases, 25 in 2021, and 17 in 2020.

Interestingly, no cases of mosquito-borne diseases were reported in Delhi during the week ending November 2, according to the data. The total number of dengue cases so far stands at 4,061, with three fatalities attributed to the disease...

MCD reports 2 more dengue deaths, total cases near 6,000 mark
New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi confirmed two more dengue deaths in the city on Wednesday, taking the total deaths this year due to the vector-borne disease to five. According to MCD's Dec 7 report, 273 more dengue cases were reported last week, taking the total count to approximately 6,000 this year.

The latest deaths took place in Sept and Oct, said officials. Once reports are received from hospitals, MCD's death screening committee takes time to verify and confirm them, said officials. Seven malaria and 13 chikungunya cases were also reported last week. This year has seen a rise in malaria cases due to the long-lasting monsoon, said officials...
