1837 Dengue cases reported in JK last year

Jammu, Feb 11: In startling revelation, government today admitted that at least 1837 cases of Dengue were reported in the state during the last year, out of which 3 people died of this deadly fever.
This was revealed in the Legislative Council today in reply to a question of MLC, Dr Shehnaz Ganai.
The reply stated that a total of 5896 suspected Dengue cases were tested during the year, 2013-14, out of which 1837 were confirmed to be positive including 3 deaths.
However, Jammu region was the worst affected by the disease as out of the total 1837 cases, 1821 were reported from Jammu region, while the rest 16 were reported from Kashmir region. All the 3 deaths were also reported in Jammu region.
