A native resident of Bidhannagar municipality ward of 20 ward died due to fever. PUNE: The city continues to be in the grip of dengue fever.Last week, a 77-year-old resident of Vishrantwadi succumbed to dengue shock syndrome at a hospital in Pune. His was the seventh dengue-related death reported in the city in the last three months.
Of the total 2,543 cases recorded so far this year, as many as 2,343 cases were reported in last three months - between July 1and September 23. In the last seven days alone, the mosquito-borne disease has affected 265 people in the city. This means, on an average, 37 cases of dengue were reported every day of the week.

A 10-year-old girl from Tiruvallur district died at the Institute of Child Health, Egmore, on Tuesday, while a 11-year-old girl from Maduranthakam died on Monday, bringing the number of school-going children deaths in the city, after testing positive for dengue, to four in the last few days.

A hospital official said both girls were treated outside and then referred to the government hospital, and both were admitted in a state of shock. Both had tested positive for dengue. While the 11-year-old was brought in at 3.55 a.m. on Monday and died the same evening, the 10-year-old was admitted on September 24 and died on Tuesday.

The woman, identified as Subha, a mother of two girls, delivered a boy at the Chidambaram GH on Saturday. Since she was suffering from fever and anaemia, she was referred to JIPMER and admitted to the ICU, where she succumbed on Tuesday morning.

Madurai: Angry villagers held a health worker captive after a small girl succumbed to suspected dengue in Madurai on Thursday.
Thiruselvi, 11 daughter of Balakrishnan of Kayampatti near Madurai, was studying in class 6 at a government higher secondary school there. The girl had been suffering from fever from Sept 26, and they had treated her at a private hospital. Blood test revealed that she was suffering from dengue was later admitted to the Government Rajaji Hospital. She died after being in the intensive care unit on Thursday.

A second case of dengue death was reported in the Capital on Thursday after a Delhi University professor succumbed to the vector-borne disease due to low blood platelet count.

Dr Sanjay Kumar was admitted to Sunder Lal Jain Hospital late on Wednesday evening and his platelets dropped alarmingly later in the night. His family was advised to arrange platelets but he passed away on Thursday morning after his platelet count dropped to 10,000.

When blood tested, she was diagnosed with dengue fever. Nivedha died without her treatment.

Krishnan (34) from VCC in Kallakurichi. The Travels company was conducting. Krishnan, who suffered a fever last few days, was admitted to a private hospital in Kalloorurichi. There was a symptom of dengue fever when he was diagnosed with blood.

He was sent to the Jeevan Hospital in New Delhi for superior treatment. Krishnan died poorly without the help of doctors.

Darjeeling, October 4, 2017: A mysterious fever has gripped Siliguri in the plains of North Bengal. It has claimed a number of lives thereby triggering widespread panic.

Ashok Bhattacharya, Mayor of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation has demanded that a team of experts should immediately visit Siliguri to probe the cause of this mysterious fever. Though the symptoms are similar to Dengue in many cases blood samples have tested negative for dengue in case of this fever, thereby causing the confusion.

Similarly, A. Menaka (12), a girl from Palamedu, studying Class 7 in a local government school, had high fever for nearly a week, for which she was reportedly getting treated at a nearby Primary Health Centre. As her situation worsened, she was referred on Tuesday to GRH, where she died on Friday.

Prervarigu belongs to Maravasi area near Krishnarayapuram in Karur district. His daughter Pooja (age 5). Pooja has suffered severe fever over the last few days and her parents took her to bathe, Krishnarayapuram and Trichy government hospitals.

But the fever is not recovered. Pooja fever was too high last night. She took her to the Karur Government Hospital for her psychiatric treatment. When doctors checked, Pooja had a symptom of dengue fever.

Subsequently, they were sent to the Tiruchirapalli hospital early today. But on the way to the hospital Pooja died miserable.

Pooja incident due to dengue fever resulted in great tragedy among the general public. There is a health disorder in the Krishnarayapuram panchayat union area.

Pooja's body in the Karur-Trichy National Highway near the Maravankannu, claimed that Pooja was suffering from Dengue fever. Thus traffic was affected by that.

Mehranu police went to the incident and left the public picket after negotiations.

There are 277 people suffering from fever from various districts including Tiruchi, Karur, Pudukottai, Ariyalur and Perambalur. There are 10 cases of dengue fever. There are 4 children. The doctors are continuing to provide serious treatment for dengue fever victims.

COIMBATORE, ERODE, SALEM, MADURAI DINDIGUL, THENI: The number of fever deaths went up on Friday, even as the government raced ahead with measures to tackle the disease. Four people died of fever at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in the early hours of Friday. They included a 20-year-old woman from Settipalayam in Erode district, a 10-year-old girl from Madathukulam, an eight-year-old from Tirupur and a six-year-old from Alandurai in Coimbatore district.

The first two were certified to have died of brain fever and the others died of viral fever. Though the families and some doctors suspected dengue, the hospital blamed the deaths on fever.

A case of dengue death was reported from Erode district, where 27 people have already died of the disease in the last two months. On Friday, Hyed Nisha (34), wife of Sheikh Rizwan from Muthampalayam, died in a private hospital in Coimbatore.

GUWAHATI, Oct 8 - The dreaded breakbone fever, which is now popularly known as dengue, has now been spreading in the State at a fast pace. Physicians here are of the view that if serious steps are not taken by the authorities concerned and the society as a whole to check the disease, dengue may take the form of a major epidemic in the State in the near future.According to official sources, so far 1,212 dengue positive cases have been reported from various parts of the State. Among the State?s districts, Kamrup (Metro) is found to be the worst dengue-affected district.
So far, two cases of dengue-related death have been reported in the State. Kamrup (Metro) reported the first case of dengue-related death in July and Kokrajhar district reported the second such death in the following month. Official sources said in Kamrup (Metro) district, the worst affected areas include Bhaskar Nagar and Narangi in the city.

Oct. 8: In a pocket of Tollygunge where a woman died of dengue on Saturday, the compound of an old house that is being pulled down has puddles that are an open invitation for mosquitoes to breed undisturbed.

About 2km away, in Golf Green, waste has been dumped along the road at many places, including outside an office of the Calcutta Municipal Corporation (CMC). Plastic cups and containers strewn all over the place complete the picture of squalor.

A resident said he had seen civic workers walk down the main road but not enter any household to check for breeding places of the dengue-causing Aedes aegypti mosquito. "I haven't heard about a dengue-awareness campaign in our area in a long time," he told Metro.

Visits to a few more neighbourhoods of south Calcutta this morning revealed that the CMC has done little to prevent dengue, contrary to official reports of a drive being mounted on a war footing.

The deceased's name is Shubhangi Vishnupant Waghmare (age 36) and resident of Plot No. 40 Dhamkirtininagar. Mother lived with former Revenue Development Officer Meenakshi Waghmare.

On October 1, due to a fever in Shubhangi, Shabbirkar went for treatment. However, due to lack of relief, she went back to her and checked her blood. But dengue was not tested.

According to information provided by relatives of the deceased and Bhushan Orek, she was not relieved within six days. Her health deteriorated. When you get this information, Dr. Shambharkar filed her for treatment at Well Treat Hospital in Wadi at 6 pm on October 6 at 5 pm. In critical condition, she was kept in the ICU. After a thorough examination, the doctor of the hospital declared that he is ineffective and prone to dengue. After two days of relentless treatment, she passed away on Sunday at the first Sentinel 3. KOLKATA: The dengue serotype that is stalking the city this time around is deadlier than usual. The health department has said that the strains this time are type two (Den 2) and four (Den 4), perhaps explaining why the disease has claimed more than 20 lives in and around the city since August this year.

"A patient might be affected by one of these two strains or both at the same time. Since these strains can cause dengue haemorrhagic fever, that could prove fatal for a few patients, doctors need to be alert and quick in their response," said Dr Arindam Biswas, consultant, general medicine, at RN Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences.

TIRUPUR: Dengue and fever deaths continued in the State with six more succumbing Tuesday.
In Tirupur, two teenagers died. One of them, Ganesh Kumar (14) from Sevur, was admitted to a private hospital in Avinashi after a week of fever. When his condition worsened, he was moved to a private hospital in Coimbatore. He was diagnosed, but died on Monday.

At the Salem GH, Parvathi Devi (13), daughter of a labourer based in Bhavani Devapuram, died due to mysterious fever.

Coimbatore: With rising cases of dengue in the state of Tamil Nadu, sources have accused the state government and health ministry of underreporting deaths, apart from failing to take measures to curb the disease.
It has come to light that the death toll from the disease has increased to 80, with over 11,500 cases reported in the state, with a majority of the cases spiralling in Coimbatore. However, officials close to the development have alleged the state government of underreporting cases of dengue, revealing the apathy in terms of health care in the state.
While the rampant outbreak of dengue in the state has people worried, it seems that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Eddapadi Palaniswami and his ministers have shown least concern in fixing the health crisis.

KOLKATA: Accusing the West Bengal government of trying to cover up the dengue outbreak in the state as "unknown fever", Left Front legislative party leader Sujan Chakraborty on Wednesday wrote to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee urging her to take necessary action in the case.
